Thanksgiving week is always a week of celebration in my family. My birthday, my parents anniversary, and Thanksgiving Day. I love the emphasis of Thanksgiving (minus the whole history of Native American slaughter and colonization) - rather than spending a lot of money buying more (ahem, Christmas), we give thanks for what we already have. This year my parents came to Lexington and we went out for a meal at Boone Tavern in Berea, KY. It was definitely different than a home-cooked meal, but it allowed the emphasis to be on spending time with loved ones rather than cooking and cleaning.

Blowing candles into Grandpa's face! Grandma & Grandpa McMahan weren't able to make it to Thanksgiving, but they were there for my birthday!!!
