Harvest Time!

We reaped some of the "veggies" of our labor before we went to India, and now we're getting our late summer crops. Tomatoes and butternut squash are still ripening on the vines, but yesterday we picked rainbow chard, onions, beans, and rhubarb! (If anyone is interested in rhubarb or chard, PLEASE let us know!) We also tried to "clean up" the garden by cutting back some of the ridiculously overgrown plants. Next year the goals are organization and simplicity. In a few weeks, we should have bundles of heirloom and standard tomatoes, as well as an overabundance of butternut squash.

(our recent haul, with an under-ripe butternut squash that came off in the de-cluttering process and a few under-ripe heirloom tomatoes)

Time to start some fall crops. This week we need to do spinach and salad greens. Has anyone ever grown garlic? Tips would be helpful!
